The short version: We built MyBankInsider to help you understand what your banking relationship is actually worth. To do that, we collect some information when you use the calculator. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with banks, and we don't require an account.
MyBankInsider is a personal research project. This site is located at mybankinsider.com. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
When you use the calculator, we save your inputs and results to help improve the tool. This includes things like your age range, approximate income and savings level, monthly credit card spend, financial plans you've indicated (such as a home purchase or refinancing), and the results the calculator generated. This information is stored under a randomly generated session ID, not your name or any account.
If you voluntarily provide your email address, we store that separately and associate it with your session so we can follow up if you've requested it.
We may also collect standard technical information that websites routinely receive, such as your browser type, general location (state or city level), and how you navigated to the site.
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the calculator, understand how people use the tool, analyze trends in how banking relationships are valued across different financial profiles, and communicate with you if you've asked us to.
We do not use your information to make decisions about your creditworthiness, insurability, or eligibility for any financial product.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your individual data with banks, financial institutions, or advertisers.
We may share aggregated, non-identifiable data (for example, patterns in how users across different income levels rank banks) with partners or for research purposes. This kind of data cannot be traced back to any individual.
We may share your information if required by law.
You have the right to:
California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any of them, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days.
We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.
We keep calculator session data for as long as it is useful for improving the product. If you provide your email, we keep it until you ask us to remove it.
We use industry-standard practices to protect the information we store. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. We encourage you to check back periodically.
